Maureen O’Leary has a PhD in vaccine epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and is a graduate of the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET), run by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Prior to joining P95 she spent three years working as a consultant in Pandemic Influenza Preparedness in Central Asia and the Caucuses. She also spent over three years in rural Ghana undertaking research on neonatal and maternal health.

She has over fourteen years of experience in infectious disease epidemiology and has worked on topics as diverse as influenza, water-related infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, blood borne viruses and human papillomavirus. She is especially interested in vaccination, surveillance system strengthening, outbreak management and capacity building in low income countries.
