Leonidas

Epidemiologist


Leonidas Georgalis studied Public Health and Hygiene at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and then he obtained his MPH, with a specialisation in Infectious Disease Epidemiology, from the Medical School of Crete in 2010. 

He worked at the Regional Laboratory of Public Health in Crete, Greece, until 2013 when he moved to the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) in Barcelona. After a year and a half, he joined the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

During the two-year fellowship, he was based at the National Institute of Epidemiology of Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCII) in Madrid. After graduating, he went back to Barcelona and ICO for a while. Leonidas joined P95 as epidemiologist in February 2017.
